So young Bethany Petras became the first one whose urn rested in the family crypt. The family was deeply saddened by her tragic death by starvation, but life went on, and each family member dealt with it in their own way.

Artistic and creative, Brighid painted a loving tribute to her older sister, which her parents proudly displayed on the wall.

Beverly began spending more and more time downtown, on dates or by herself. There she discovered a new passion — pool. She loved to play it, and (not surprisingly) was quite good at it. It proved to be an excellent source of spending money as well, as she could always find someone willing to wager on the outcome of the game.

She quickly became a regular at Rodney’s Hideout, taking on all comers, no matter their age, with the confidence and flair that were rapidly becoming her trademark. She even took on Count Dorian one night — and beat him, to his great astonishment!

Impressed and amused by the teen’s audacity, he not only made good on his bet, but treated the youth to dinner as well. Bev was unsurprised though. Her charisma and poise lent themselves to making friends with most of her opponents, no matter how badly she trounced them at the pool table.

Both Brighid and Brandon had become teens themselves. Like big sister Bev, Brighid was into all things romance, and Aaron and Mary’s oldest son was quite the pleasure-seeker as well. They, too, liked to sneak downtown when they could, for a date or a quick game of cards.

And Bethany? Well, her body might have passed on, but her spirit still lingered - and usually in front of the fridge. It wasn’t uncommon, though, for her ghost to be spotted tidying up around the house now and again, either. Mary, for one, was glad of the extra help, as she was now expecting a seventh child.

In fact, even with the loss of Bethany the family dinner table was still fairly crowded. Beverly began to wonder whether the time had come to set out on her own, and frequently discussed her options with ther father at meals.

Five days after the tragedy, Mary felt the familiar pangs of labor beginning. Within hours, she’d given birth to a new baby girl, Barbara.

For Beverly, it was the deciding factor. She’d already reached the top of the sports career for teens, had scholarships for every skill as well as for her dancing and pool skills, and to top it all off, the prestigious Sim City Scholar’s Grant. There was nothing more for her to accomplish as a teen living at home, and the arrival of one more mouth to feed clinched it. She picked up the phone and submitted her application to Greenhaven University. Before you could say "Greenhaven Llamas", she was on her way to college.

Next time: Beverly adjusts to life in the dorms

Both the wall and floor in the family crypt were picked up as tagalongs with some Sims Exchange lots. The floor is by Angelways1 and is labelled as "AW1_Floor3". The wall is called "Grey Block" and is apparently by Skye at SterlingSims2.com. I believe everything else has been listed before, or is from Maxis.
