Hot! Hot! Hot!

After nearly being killed during his attempt to fix the family computer, Brad decided he deserved a trip downtown. A studious and quiet boy, Brad wasn’t usually the type to spend a lot of time out of the house, shopping or socializing, but he felt he could use a change of surroundings.

Everyone's in love but me...

Unlike other members of his family, Brad hadn’t spent a lot of time dating. In fact, he had never been on a date. The girls in his school just didn’t seem all that interesting to him compared to a good book or a night spent gazing through the family telescope. He never really thought about why that might be.

Hello there, stranger!

At the local coffee shop, Brad ran into Ricky Cormier. They knew each other by sight, but had never spent much time together. They struck up a conversation, and found they had a lot in common. They were well on their way to becoming friends, and Brad, at least, was starting to look at his new friend in a different way.

Do you like what you see?

To his surprise and delight, Ricky was attracted to him, too. What had started as a casual conversation was now officially a date. They had dinner together, and finished the meal with the sweetest dessert of all, in Brad’s mind—his first kiss!

How sweet it is!

Neither boy wanted to go home. They spent hours at the coffee shop, holding hands, kissing, and just being together. It was like the rest of the world didn’t exist.

Ouch!

Unfortunately for them, the rest of the world did still exist, and not all of them were happy to see the two boys together. Before they realized it, they’d run afoul of the local crank, Mrs. Crumplebottom. Ouch!

I think I'm in love

But Brad didn’t let the incident spoil his good mood. He was happy with his new boyfriend Ricky, and floated back home on cloud nine.

Transitions

While Aaron and Mary had stopped having children after Blair was born, the family still continued to grow…up! Blair was now a toddler, Belle grew up into a precocious little girl, and Beatrice was now a teen. Like her brother Brad, she had a thirst for knowledge, although her secret desire was to use that knowledge to master the world of crime.

Growing up

Aaron and Mary were getting older too. Aaron had finally made it to the top of the military career, and both he and Mary were now sporting full heads of gray hair.

Gray hair

But just because you get older doesn’t mean you slow down. The Petrases were still as madly in love with each other as they had been as newlyweds, and they took advantage of their increased free time, now that the kids were getting older, to truly experience all life had to offer.

Young at heart

I’m publishing this update away from home, so I don’t have all my custom content credits handy. I’ll add that in later, for those of you who care.

I can tell you that Aaron and Mary’s elder outfits are from the sadly now-defunct "Simply Skintastic" site, which was a great site for elder clothing until it closed last August, I believe.
