A set of default replacements for the standard Maxis easel paintings, suitable for a Medieval setting, or wherever you decide to use them. They REPLACE the normal easel paintings. Simply put them in your download folder like any other custom content. To return to the regular Maxis paintings, just delete these files. You can only have ONE set of default replacements in your game at a time.

These paintings are derived from illuminations from the famous Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, a “Book of Hours”, or daily devotional, created in the 15th Century by the Limbourg brothers and others. The 12 paintings represent each of the months of the year, and include a zodiac calendar at the top.

If you prefer not to replace the defaults, I have also included a non-default set, for those with Pets or later, to use as Custom Paintings. Just unzip and place in your “Paintings” folder (My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Paintings)

Created with saramkirk’s wonderful Default Replacements for Easel Paintings template at Mod the Sims 2.

I’m going to be including some downloads on the site that I think may be of interest to some people. Mostly they will be medieval in focus, but suitable to other purposes as well.
